The resort itself offers multiple ceremony settings: the oceanfront lawn with panoramic views, the beach cove tucked below the bluffs, and cliff-top locations that put you quite literally at the edge of the Pacific. Each location photographs completely differently and we'll recommend the right one based on your vision and the light conditions on your day.
Turtle Bay faces north and northeast, which means the light is more diffused than at west-facing Ko Olina. Early morning gives you incredible soft light with empty beaches — perfect for intimate elopement coverage. Late afternoon is our preferred time for ceremonies, with dramatic clouds and moody ocean light that creates a powerful cinematic feel.
One thing we always advise: wind at Turtle Bay can be stronger than in more sheltered areas. We help couples plan for this — both in terms of hair and wardrobe, and in finding the most sheltered ceremony spots when needed.
Turtle Bay Resort is approximately 45–55 minutes from Honolulu depending on traffic. We include a small North Shore travel fee in our packages for this venue — contact us for a full quote. We always build in ample travel time and arrive early to scout the specific conditions for your day.
